Commissioned for the Music for Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015, 800 Miles as the Albatross Flies was performed by 450 young people from Lambeth. The song cycle had a story which explored the premise of a near disastrous modern day recreation of Ernest Shackleton’s Antarctic exploration a century earlier.
